Code of Ethics

The Boston Collaborative works as a network of networks. Great people desire to employ the services of others who are highly proficient, trustworthy, and skilled in their work. This directory is how we connect the two. Every provider agrees to conduct their affairs with truth and integrity. Every client we serve carries our responsibility.

Membership in this directory is an agreement to uphold the following standards. These are not policies. They are the commitments that make this network worth belonging to.

1. We keep connections on the network that made them possible.

Every referral and every booking in this directory was built on relationships this organization helped establish. Providers agree to keep those transactions on the platform that sustains them. Routing clients or payments outside the network to avoid fees or obligations undermines the infrastructure every member depends on. We take that seriously, and membership requires the same.

2. We vouch for the people we list.

A name within this directory is not just a listing. It is our word to every client who trusts us. We vet providers before they join, hold them to our standards while they are here, and remove those who no longer meet them. Our credibility rests entirely on the character of the people we stand behind.

3. We hold providers to a standard of Christian character.

Professional competence is the floor, not the ceiling. Providers in this network are expected to conduct their practice and their client relationships with honesty, integrity, compassion, and accountability, values rooted in our faith and non-negotiable in our community. Providers who misrepresent themselves, exploit clients, or act in ways that contradict these values will be removed. This is the standard our community was built on.

4. We serve clients without conflict of interest.

Referrals are made on fit. Not on availability, not on profile completeness, not on any interest other than what is right for the person seeking help. That commitment does not bend.

5. We keep the economics of this network transparent.

Providers will always know how they were referred, what fees apply to bookings sourced through the directory, and what information is collected about their practice activity. Nothing about how this network works financially is hidden from the people inside it.

6. We protect client information.

Personal information shared during the referral or booking process is used only to connect clients with the right provider. It is not sold, aggregated for marketing, or shared outside the network.

7. We do not compete with the people we serve.

Our role is to connect, not to capture. We succeed when providers do meaningful work and when clients find the right person. We have no interest in owning those relationships beyond enabling them.

8. We give providers a fair path in and a clear path out.

Joining this network should never feel like a trap. Providers who leave take their client relationships with them. Our value is in what we build together, not in what we make difficult to leave.

9. We hold ourselves accountable.

This code is not posted for appearances. If we fall short of it, we expect to hear about it. Providers and clients can reach [email protected] with concerns and should expect a real response.

10. We are committed to providing excellent services.

It is important that providers on our platform deliver excellent service to ensure ongoing trust. To that end, we are committed to helping our providers obtain high ratings on the platform. If a provider falls below a 3-star average rating, we will move the profile to inactive status as we work together towards service improvement plans.

The Boston Collaborative is built on the conviction that people of high character desire to find others of high character. This code is how we keep that conviction honest.

Application Process

Joining the Boston Collaborative Directory

We are committed to ensuring our community has clear, trustworthy access to quality service providers. If you believe your practice reflects the standards of this network, we welcome your application.

The process is as follows:

1. Complete the interest form. Tell us about your practice, the services you offer, and why you want to be part of this directory.
2. Submit three references. We require two professional references. References should be people who can speak to both the quality of your work and character.
3. Allow time for review. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. We take this process seriously and give each application the attention it deserves.
4. Receive your invitation. If your application is accepted, you will receive an email invitation to set up your profile on the platform. Instructions will be included.

If we are not moving forward, we will tell you directly. We respect your time. If your application is not accepted at this time, we will communicate that to you personally.
